President’s Notes

October 8, 2008

We had a good group of Rotarians and visitors for our second meeting during October, or Membership month.

Announcements

1)      Our Adventure Golf Tournament is this Saturday, October 11. Matilda says most volunteers should be there between 8:15-8:30 AM.

2)      The Business of Reading Festival still needs more readers for the week of October 20. I still have forms, or you can contact Amanda Dyer at 288-3631 ext 121 or adyer@u98.me.us . The Board voted to donate $110 to cover the costs of photographs and postage and incidental expenses.

3)      Nancy Corliss asked the members to complete the Membership Satisfaction Questionnaire. An electronic copy of the survey was emailed to the members with my notes from a couple of weeks ago.

4)      October is Membership month for our Club. Members are reminded to bring a guest to a meeting during October. Each guest will be offered one free meal during the month.

                Anniversaries

1)      October 8 – Scott and Debby Hammond. Scott noted that this is his and Debby’s 25th anniversary.

2)      October 10 – Mike and Michelle Gurtler

Ticket Drawings

1)      Hook Wheeler drew his own ticket for the $10 drawing, and generously donated to $10 to the Club.

2)      _______ had the winning Queen of Hearts ticket, but did not draw the Queen of Hearts

Program

Steve Powell introduced Elsie Flemmings, Democratic Candidate for the Maine House of Representatives. Elsie talked about her history and philosophies that she will take to Augusta, if elected.

Next week’s guest will be Rick Savage, the Republican Candidate for the House. I hope to see you and your guest next week.
